Delete your account or your data

This page explains how to delete your Terrastamp account (published on the App Store and Google Play by Terrastamp), how to delete only some of your data, and what happens to your information afterwards. It applies to the Terrastamp mobile app and website.

2. Request deletion by email

If you can no longer access the app, or prefer not to install it, send an email to support@terrastamp.app with the subject "Delete my account". Please write from the email address associated with your account (or mention your username) so we can verify that the request is yours. We confirm by email and process the request within 30 days.

3. What is deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove everything linked to you:

• Account and profile: email address, login credentials (password hash or Google/Apple sign-in link), name, username, avatar, home city and privacy settings.
• Your content: cities and countries marked as visited, lived or wanted, ratings, travel tips, must-see suggestions and votes, bucket list, trips and their itineraries, travel companions and the people you follow or who follow you.
• Badges and statistics: your stamps, progress and leaderboard position.
• Devices: the push notification token of each device and your notification preferences. You stop receiving notifications immediately.
• Sessions: all active sessions are revoked.

4. What is kept, and for how long

• Your account is deactivated immediately: your profile and content stop being visible to anyone, and the records are erased from our production database within 30 days.
• Encrypted backups are rotated within 90 days; your data disappears from them on that schedule.
• Aggregated community statistics that are no longer linked to you (for example, a city's average rating) are not reversed.
• Technical request logs (such as IP addresses used for security and rate limiting) are transient and are not kept beyond a few days.

Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore an account or its stamps afterwards.

5. Delete only some of your data

You can remove individual pieces of data without closing your account:

• A visit, rating or tip: open the city, tap your visit and choose Delete (or edit it to change the rating or tip).
• Bucket list items: swipe or open the item in Bucket list and remove it.
• Trips: open the trip and choose Delete trip, or leave a trip you were invited to.
• Travel companions: reject or remove a tag from the pending list on your profile, or from the visit.
• Followers and following: unfollow from any profile.
• Push notification token: turn notifications off in Settings > Notifications or sign out; the device is removed from your account.

For anything you cannot remove yourself, email support@terrastamp.app with the subject "Delete my data" describing what you want removed. We process these requests within 30 days.

Para eliminar tu cuenta de Terrastamp: abrí la app, entrá a Perfil > Ajustes y tocá Eliminar cuenta. También podés escribir a support@terrastamp.app desde el mail de tu cuenta. La cuenta se desactiva al instante y los datos (perfil, visitas, calificaciones, tips, viajes, dispositivos) se borran de la base en un plazo de 30 días. Para borrar solo una parte (una visita, un viaje, un compañero) podés hacerlo desde la app sin cerrar la cuenta.
